Nomadic State of Mind, a grassroots handmade sandal and accessories company founded by Chris Anderson, began its voyage in the late '90s. In the early years, we ran the business out of a 1969 VW bus, which also served as Chris' summer home. While we have come a long way since Chris' van days, our philosophy has stayed consistent – If it is done right in the beginning, it will last a long time.

Our products are vegan-friendly and cruelty-free, handcrafted from recycled and sustainable materials. A love for the world we live in isn't just a state of mind – it's a way of living. That's why all of our products are made in a socially and eco-conscious way.

Nomadic State of Mind was built from the heart, and that's apparent throughout the structure of the company. Our roots were formed setting up sandal shops at outdoor music festivals across the country.

Each piece contributes to our "No Scraps Left Behind" program, which aims to reduce our manufacturing waste by creating products with leftover scraps.

Our rope is made in North Carolina and is partly reclaimed polypropylene cord, chosen for its quality and consistency. The Vibram soles are the best option for durability and traction, and our packaging is designed to be as eco-conscious as the products, with no wasteful shoeboxes.
